I received some pro tools help from a friend, Rob, the other day and wow, was I amazed! Rob showed me how to use Auxillary tracks within Pro Tools. With these Auxillary tracks, he explained that I could create virtual microphones in any type of space I wanted by adding a reverb effect to the Auxillary track. Basically these Auxillary tracks work as secondary effect tracks to the tracks where audio was originally recorded. The originally recorded material is sent out of the Audio track through a bus to the input of the Auxillary track. Pro Tools has ten busses from each Audio track, so essentially one could create up to ten Auxillary tracks and send out the signal from one Audio track to each Auxillary for a total of ten effects off of each audio signal! This is a great help because copying an Audio tracks signal and putting it on ten different new Audio tracks, to have seperate effects, takes up a lot of CPU (central processing unit) power.
