Executive Producer and Host Matt Briggs spent over a decade intensely researching environmental issues. Eighteen months ago, Matt began filming the pioneering work in Green Building being done in Portland, Oregon. Galvanized to do more due to the growing threat of global climate change, Matt upped the ante by establishing Deep Green Films with the hope of creating what he terms a "heartfelt exploration of the best solutions" to carbon-based energy production.

In this effort, Matt has interviewed people in China, Europe, and the U.S, including Portland green building experts, Silicon Valley companies at the forefront of "green tech," and experts and entrepreneurs across the country, including such luminaries as Lester Brown and Thomas Lovejoy.

We are making a movie which will not only educate but entertain. We have engaged the talents of Bent Image Lab in Portland, one of the best animation houses in the country. We've filmed some great comedians who have put their talents to work on behalf of the earth. Many people have come together and given their time and talents to create this unique film.

The great divides that have been created in our world -- from ancient tribal enmities to current cultural clashes -- need to be reconsidered in the interest of our mutual survival. Religious, economic, ethnic, political, historical and even market-driven differences must be put aside so that we may all live to fight another day. We do not have the luxury of difference, of conflict, and must confront a universal problem.

Our film is due out in early 2009.

Please join us in working to educate, enlighten and inspire people to recognize that we are all connected, all involved and all responsible for making this vital change. If you want to be a part of the making of our film, please check in now and then for updates on the production schedule. We also plan to serve as a community gathering place for like-minded folks and turn you on to the latest in eco-news and new eco-films coming out.
